How to prepare for a QHHT session
There is very little you need to do, and nothing you can get wrong.
The most valuable preparation is simply knowing what you would like to explore.
When you book
Choose a day when you have nothing else scheduled. A full QHHT session runs five to six hours, sometimes a little longer, and it is worth protecting the evening as well.
If you are currently being treated for a psychiatric condition, or taking medication that affects mood or cognition, please mention it when you book. Michelle will talk with you about whether the timing is right. QHHT is not a substitute for medical or psychological care.
Michelle will be in touch after you book with anything else you need. You can also read the cancellation policy in advance.
Writing your questions
Your questions are the backbone of a QHHT session. Later in the session, Michelle will put them to your subconscious one by one, so the more honestly they reflect what matters to you, the richer the session tends to be.
There is no set number and no wrong question. A simple approach:
- Start with what keeps returning. The situation, feeling or pattern you think about most when you are quiet.
- Cover the main areas of your life. Relationships and family, work and purpose, health and wellbeing, and your life's direction.
- Include the quieter questions. The ones that are hard to put into words or feel too big to ask anyone else.
- Ask "why" and "what", not only "will". Questions about meaning tend to open more than questions about predicting the future.
- Put the most important ones first. You will refine the list together with Michelle during the pre-talk, so it does not need to be perfect.
Example questions people bring
These are illustrations only. Your own words will always be more powerful.
Relationships and family
- Why do I keep finding myself in the same kind of relationship?
- What is the deeper connection between me and my mother, father or child?
Work and purpose
- What am I here to learn or contribute in this life?
- Why do I feel stuck in my work, and what would help me move forward?
Health and wellbeing
- What might my body be trying to show me about the way I am living?
- What is beneath the tiredness or tension I carry?
Life path and the bigger picture
- Why did a particular experience happen, and what was it teaching me?
- Is there a past life that relates to what I am living now?
Questions about your health are welcome as a way of reflecting on your wellbeing. QHHT does not diagnose or treat medical conditions, so please continue any care you receive from your doctor or other health practitioners.
There are no wrong questions.
Only the ones that feel most alive, most urgent and most true for you right now.
The evening before your session
- Avoid alcohol the evening before and on the day.
- Limit caffeine and other stimulating substances that evening and the following morning.
- Aim for a restful night. If sleep does not come easily, that is fine; the relaxation still works.
- Read over your questions once, then let them be.
On the day
- Eat well, but keep it light. A heavy meal can make deep relaxation harder.
- Wear something loose and comfortable. You will be lying down for a good part of the session.
- Bring your list of questions, written or on your phone.
- Allow travel time. The practice is at 69 Palmer Street, Cammeray, on Sydney's Lower North Shore, with free street parking nearby.
Arriving a little nervous is completely normal. The session begins with a long, unhurried conversation, and most people settle quickly. See what happens in a QHHT session, stage by stage.
Planning for afterwards
Many people leave feeling deeply relaxed; some feel tired or emotional. Keep the rest of the day quiet if you can, and give yourself time before heading off.
Your audio recording will be delivered privately via Dropbox shortly after your visit. It is for your personal use only. Setting aside time over the following weeks to listen again, perhaps with a journal nearby, is one of the most valuable things you can do, because much of what surfaces keeps unfolding with each listen.
Preparation questions
Do I need to meditate or practise hypnosis beforehand?
No experience is needed. The state QHHT uses is one you already pass through naturally every day, and Michelle guides you into it step by step.
What if I can't think of any questions?
Bring whatever you have, even a single question or a general feeling. The pre-talk is designed to help you find and shape your questions together with Michelle.
Should I read about past lives or QHHT first?
It is not necessary. Some people like to read about past life regression or the subconscious in QHHT; others prefer to arrive with no expectations. Both are fine.
